Troy Township is proud to partner with the Village of Shorewood Police Department and Bio-One Clean Up to bring you this great event!
Shredding Event and Medication Disposal
Free for all Troy Township Residents*
Saturday, October 2, 2021 9:00am to 12:00pm**
Troy Township Office & Community Center 25448 Seil Road, Shorewood
Staff from the Shorewood Police Department will be on-site to collect the medication and ensure proper disposal. Bio-One Clean Up will be on-site to collect needles that are appropriately contained within an approved sharps container and ensure proper disposal.
Items Accepted (expired or unwanted):
- Prescription Medications—you may put them all in a Ziplock bag
- Over-the-Counter Medications
- Medicated Ointments
- Medicated Shampoos
- Liquids Containing Medications
- Prescription Inhalers
- Over-the-Counter Inhalers
- Needles (only if sealed in an approved sharps container)
Items NOT Accepted:
• Bio-Hazardous Materials
• Radioactive Materials
• Anything Containing Mercury • Medical Devices
• Other Household Wastes
Make sure to bring only residentially generated medication items. No medications from businesses or doctor’s offices will be accepted. Use a permanent marker to black out your name
or personal information on the label or you may put them all in a Ziplock bag.
*Proof of residency is required, and each vehicle is limited to four grocery bags of paper to be shredded.
DO NOT mix your medication with your papers. Please keep them separate.
**The event will end PROMPTLY at 12:00pm and could possibly end sooner if the shredding truck fills up, due to inclement/hazardous weather or may be cancelled due to COVID restrictions.
